Meet Dr. Madhi Sundaram, a Nephrologist and General Physician, is currently practicing at Ipswich Hospital. With a prior tenure in the Northern Territory since 2011, Dr. Sundaram holds Royal College accreditation in acute and General medicine, as well as Nephrology. He gained recognition as a pre-eminent senior staff specialist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Sundaram boasts a master’s degree in Diagnostic Genomics and a diploma in Medical Biostatistics. His interest in renal genetics is evident. He completed his medical and renal training at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India, in 2007, a prominent tertiary care unit serving a vast referral base in South Asia. Dr. Sundaram served as a consultant there for five years before relocating to Australia.
His extensive expertise encompasses managing complex acute and chronic nephrological issues, dialysis, acid and electrolyte disturbances, transplantation, and immunological conditions. Dr. Sundaram is an author or co-author of approximately 40 publications in various peer-reviewed medical journals and nephrology textbooks. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals and actively participates in numerous research projects as a lead investigator, co-investigator, or additional investigator.
Dr. Sundaram’s dedication to education is evident through his involvement in training and supervising medical students, basic physician trainees, and renal and advanced medical trainees.
